Luminescence of ion-pair states of halogens in liquid perfluorocarbons.
The I(2)(D'-A') luminescence in liquid C(7)F(16), C(8)F(18), C(9)F(20), and C(12)F(26) has been observed following irradiation with visible (within the I(2) X → B band region) and UV (λ < 300 nm) lasers. The band is shifted by ~2000 cm(-1) to the red relative to the gas phase and is significantly broader (fwhm ≈ 3000 cm(-1) vs 500 cm(-1) in the gas phase). Two-color excitation of other halogens...
متن کاملHeavy Rydberg behaviour in high vibrational levels of some ion-pair states of the halogens and inter-halogens.
We report the identification of heavy Rydberg resonances in the ion-pair spectra of I2, Cl2, ICl, and IBr. Extensive vibrational progressions are analysed in terms of the energy dependence of the quantum defect δ(Eb) rather than as Dunham expansions. This is shown to define the heavy Rydberg region, providing a more revealing fit to the data with fewer coefficients and leads just as easily to n...
متن کاملAn Ion-pair Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction for Simultaneous Determination of Synthetic Dyes in Ice Cream Samples by HPLC
An efficient, sensitive and fast method was developed based on an ultrasound-assisted extraction followed by an ion-pair dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (USAE-IP-DLLME) for the simultaneous determination of five commonly used synthetic sulfonate dyes (tartarazine, quinoline yellow, sunset yellow, azorubine, and brilliant blue) in ice cream samples using high performance liquid chromato...
متن کاملIon Pair Dispersive Liquid-Liquid Microextraction for the Determination of Trace Amounts of Copper(II) in Soil, Multivitamin Tablet, Tea and Water Samples Using Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry
Ion pair dispersive liquid- liquid microextraction (IP-DLLME) method combined with flame atomic absorption spectrometry was proposed for the determination of trace amounts of copper(II). By using pyrocatechol violet as chelating agent and cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide as an ion pairing agent, the trace amount of copper(II) was extracted in chloroform. The factors influencing the formation cop...
متن کاملTotal and Partial Liquid Ventilation Using Perfluorocarbons
Introduction The possibilities of using liquid instead of air in the exchange of gases have always fascinated researchers. The first studied liquid was saline solution which appeared to be unsuitable for transporting gases in normobaria. Its capacity to dissolve oxygen is low, and its viscosity and density are high as compared with air. Moreover, the introduction of saline into the lung can rem...
